Sports MADNESS

By: Ryan Bedroske, PIA Director
With NCAA March Madness in full swing, it's a sure sign that outdoor sports season is just around the corner here in Wisconsin.
As a dad of three active kids involved in multiple youth sports, I can confirm—it's a scheduling nightmare (and a whole lot of fun). Between practices, games, uniforms, and replacing shoes for growing feet, it feels like a second job. Or maybe a third?
On top of it all, I coach both of my boys' baseball teams. It’s an incredible privilege, but also—let’s be honest—a bit of madness. From planning practices to coordinating with parents, and managing games and tournaments, it’s a full-time commitment.
The real chaos kicks in on game day. You hope all the drills and prep pay off, but baseball is full of split-second decisions and unexpected scenarios. Sometimes your choices lead to big wins. Other times… well, you learn and move on.
Sound familiar?
Our work as insurance agents isn’t so different. We gather the details, build the best quote, strategize the timing—and then wait to see if it all pays off. Sometimes you land the client. Sometimes it doesn’t go your way.
With all the recent market madness, it’s easy to get discouraged. But just like I tell my teams: be prepared, stay focused, and have a short memory. Win with grace, lose with perspective—and always get ready for the next play.
