Gov. Evers Signs Coronavirus Relief Bill

In the first-ever, virtual legislative session, the Wisconsin Legislature met this week and passed a bill that will allow the State to collect $2 billion in federal funding for coronavirus relief.  Of interest to the insurance industry, the bill contained provisions creating civil liability immunity for health care professionals and providers relating to the current public health emergency, and to those who manufacture, distribute or sell medical supplies to respond to the COVID-19 crisis.  Additionally, the bill declared Workers Compensation coverage for first responders diagnosed with COVID-19 and it allowed for liability coverage for doctors who are temporarily licensed to practice in Wisconsin due to COVID-19.  Gov.
